In conjunction with the exhibition My Home Has Wings / Mi Casa Tiene Alas at the Bronx Museum's Block Gallery, artist Blanka Amezkua will lead a workshop on papel picado, the paper-cutting tradition of her native Mexico. Having studied paper arts under the tutelage of Mexican folk artist Rene Mendoza, Amezkua will guide participants on developing intricate visual stories made from papel picado using the tools and techniques employed by highly skilled artisans.
