FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2008, 6:00 to 10:00 pm First Fridays! Dance to the Music! A Tribute to Hip Hop, Dance and Culture South Building—Lower Gallery Admission: Free
Four highly
respected hip hop pioneers from the worlds of dance, activism, and
education join forces to present a one-of-a-kind program that
explores the history, relevance, and future of hip hop dance and the
culture that birthed it. Featuring the screening of "Everything
Remains Raw," a groundbreaking documentary on hip hop dance culture,
a panel discussion, and music provided by DJ Doc.
First Fridays and marketing activities are generously supported by Deutsche Bank and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Additional marketing support is provided by The New York Community Trust.
