CORRESPONDENCE: A BRONX LAB WORKSHOP ON MAIL ART
Saturday, March 22, 1pm to 4pm

Inspired by The Bronx Museum of Art's current exhibition Paulo Bruscky: Art is Our Last Hope, the next Bronx Lab will be a two-part workshop beginning at the Museum and ending at the Bronx General Post Office.

Part 1:  Create your own mail artwork in a workshop lead by artists Michael and Alan Fleming. Alan and Michael Fleming are identical twin brothers who have been working together since 2005 creating collaborative performance, sculpture, and video work. They participated in The Bronx Museum of the Arts Artist in the Marketplace program in 2012 and their work was featured in Bronx Calling: The Second AIM Biennial in 2013.

Part 2:  Mail your artwork and then join Glenn Palmer-Smith, artist and author of the recently published Murals of New York City: The Best of New York's Public Paintings from Bemelmans to Parrish, for a guided tour of the Ben Shahn murals, recently designated as an interior landmark by the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Bring your MetroCard and/or $2.75 for the bus to get from the Museum to the Post Office!

Pre-registration is encouraged for this event! Please sign up here.

Bronx Lab is a test site for new ideas at The Bronx Museum of the Arts, engaging audiences in meaningful discussions about contemporary culture. Bronx Lab serves as a center axis connecting education and curatorial initiatives, exploring the past, present, and future of the Bronx. Using exhibitions, public programming, social media, as well as hands-on activities, participants in Bronx Lab explore critical views of our borough’s culture.
