1040 Lounge: Film Screening of El Barrio Tours: Gentrification in East Harlem

Join us for an in-depth look at the phenomenon of gentrification, as seen through changes in the largest Puerto Rican neighborhood in the United States: East Harlem. After a screening of El Barrio Tours: Gentrification in East Harlem, the floor will be opened for discussion. Presented by the Bronx Museum Community Advisory Council.


Panel members will include Susana Blankley, Director of Housing Organizing at New Settlement Apartments Community Action for Safe Apartments (CASA), Ryan Singer, Deputy Director of the Bronx Office of City Planning, Edwin Pagan, member of Seis del Sur, and Carlos Rivera of Picture the Homeless.


Hosted by Ed Garcia, the founder of the Welcome2theBronx.com, and Andrew J. Padilla, Director of El Barrio Tours: Gentrification in East Harlem.
